Ammi Amarnath

Ammi leads a team of engineers and scientists in the research, development, deployment and market transformation of Energy Efficiency & Demand Responsive (EE/DR) technologies. Some of the technologies demonstrated include: advanced space conditioning systems for residential and commercial buildings, heat pump water heaters, advanced end-use smart technologies that integrate with the smart grid, and industrial process efficiency improvements. He also manages RD&D activities focused on advanced demand response (DR) applications in Energy-Water Nexus area & renewables integration, and technologies such as OpenADR and SEP. His focus also includes utility analytical techniques, such as energy meter data disaggregation, impact of energy efficiency on emissions etc, so as to make energy efficiency and demand response programs successful around the world. In his prior tenure at EPRI, Amarnath was a Senior Project Manager within the Industrial and Distributed Generation programs. His activities included the collaborative RD&D of efficient industrial technologies, advanced fuel cells and other distributed generation technologies. Amarnath received a Bachelor of Engineering degree in chemical engineering from India and a Master of Science degree in chemical engineering from the University of California, Santa Barbara. He also holds a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Houston.

Armand Saliani is a mechanical engineer, he received his Msc degree from Georgia Tech and started his career in the nuclear industry. Combining strong skills in piping design and mechanical calculation, he joined Arneg Canada in 2016 to take the lead of the engineering department for refrigerated cases. He helped starting the rack division in 2018 and is now supervising the engineering of both rack and cases.

Chris Pegg is the Vice President of Sales for North America at RDM USA. He has over 25 years of experience in the HVAC/R industry. Dan Hamza-Goodacre has over 20 years’ experience working on climate and sustainable development. Previous roles include the Director of Buildings & Industry at ClimateWorks and the Deputy CEO of PwC’s Climate and Development Knowledge Network. Dan held various senior posts in UK government, notably at Defra and the UK Foreign Office. He is a regular speaker and moderator at conferences and has written widely on climate and development. He holds an MSc in International Development from Bristol University, where he also was a lecturer and researcher in global environmental politics. He has lived and worked in latin American rainforests and volunteers in schools to support their ‘green’ teams.

Edwin es profesional técnico especializado de la Unidad Técnica Ozono del Ministerio de Ambiente y Desarrollo Sostenible de Colombia, con 15 años de experiencia en la formulación, ejecución y seguimiento de proyectos relacionados con la eliminación y reducción de las Sustancias Controladas por el Protocolo Montreal en el sector de refrigeración y acondicionamiento del aire, y en iniciativas Clean Cooling Collaborative (K-CEP), y SPODS (Sustainable and Climate-Friendly Phase-Out of Ozone Depleting Substances). Entre sus principales logros se incluye la participación en el diseño de ingeniería de acondicionadores de aire centralizados con R290, asistencia técnica para el montaje de una nueva línea de fabricación de acondicionadores del aire centralizados con ductos, que funcionan con refrigerante tipo hidrocarburo, y formulación de la estrategia nacional de implementación de alternativas y medidas de eficiencia ambiental y energética para el sector de refrigeración comercial de supermercados en Colombia.
