Alessandro Moneta holds a Master’s degree in Management Engineering earned at “Politecnico di Milano” in 2006. Since then, he has covered different sales roles in leading heat exchanger manufacturing companies. In these years he has gained a deep knowledge in the European HVAC and Refrigeration market. In 2019 he joined Güntner Group as Business Development Manager and Key Accounts Manager. In accordance with the principles and values promoted by Guentner such as Sustainability, decarbonization and innovation, in January 2023 he was appointed Business Development Manager for Renewable Energy Systems, in which the heat pump application is currently the most relevant. Anders Mønsted is the Business Development Manager at Advansor. With a background in refrigeration engineering, he has been working with natural refrigerant solutions since 1994. He has mainly worked with CO2 and ammonia as a refrigerant in industrial systems. CO2 is an excellent refrigerant for many applications, for example, low temperatures applications down to -50°C for liquification of CO2.     His focus is to always match the best and most sustainable CO2 refrigeration solution with the customer´s needs and applications.

Training as electrical engineer at the professional university of Bienne (CH). Professional practice: 2 years development engineer at Schindler Ebikon, 6 years design engineer and 4 years Facility Management engineer at Swisscom. Since 2000, i am the Facility Manager engineer and technical manager of Migros Ticino.

Andrea is the grandson of Sagat S.a.s.’s founder, Giorgio, and son of the current President, Fabio. He gained 4 years experience in strategy consulting in multinational firms and holds a BSc in Finance from Bocconi University (Milan) and a Master in Management from IE Business School (Madrid). Andrea was always passionate about his father’s work and assisted him directly during the university period. He now provides external support to the company, focusing on operations improvement and suppliers’ management.

Andreas Klaudus is the founder and managing director of the Austrian Academy of Refrigeration and a board member of the Austrian Refrigeration Society. For more than 10 years, he has been involved in the further development of education and training as well as the exchange of knowledge, experience and information in the refrigeration, air conditioning and heat pump sector. Having completed an apprenticeship in the field of refrigeration technology himself at a young age and subsequently passing the master craftsman’s examination, the training and further education of young specialists and apprentices as well as the preparation of technicians for the master craftsman’s examination are of particular concern to him. A major focus of all training and further education is the practical and safe handling of environmentally friendly refrigerants.

Andreas Meier has several years of experience in management functions within the refrigeration sector. He has been a member of TEKO’s management since August 2015. He was previously President of Sales D / A / CH at GEA Refrigeration Technologies, based in Berlin – Germany, and before that he was the Head of Marketing and Product Management at GEA Küba GmbH. He also worked in Zug – Switzerland, as Sales & Marketing Manager at a Japanese manufacturer for industrial refrigeration.

Andreea Closca is Market Manager Residential Comfort at Copeland, involved in the development of products to support the European Heat Pump industry. She holds two Master`s degrees, one in Marketing Strategies and Policies from Babes Bolyai University and one in Technical Project Management from the Technical University (Cluj Napoca, RO). Andreea has 10 years’ experience working in the HVAC industry, in addition to having previously worked in the banking and retail sector.

Anna Lennquist holds a PhD in ecotoxicology from the University of Gothenburg, Sweden. She holds also degree in journalism from the same University. Anna joined ChemSec in 2011 and has since focused on substitution of hazardous chemicals. She is the project manager for the SIN List, the ChemSec Marketplace and the PFAS Guide.

Arno Kaschl works as a Senior Policy Officer for the European Commission. Arno studied biology and has a Ph.D. from the University of Hohenheim, Germany. Since 2011 he has been responsible for European fluorinated gas policies, contributing to the negotiations of the Fgas regulation and the Kigali amendment to the Montreal protocol.

Aurélie Grélot-Liénard holds a PhD in Engineer in Chemical Process Engineering. She is the Global Cooling and Refrigeration Systems Lead for Cargill, responsible for the design, development and deployment of best operation practices enabling to ensure the safety and the performances of the installations.

Dr. Azam Thatte is the Chief Scientist at Energy Recovery, Inc. where he leads the fundamental research in developing novel sustainable energy technologies like Trans-Critical CO2 Refrigeration & Heat Pumps, Thermal Energy Storage and Geothermal Power Generation, as well as component level technologies including Rotary Gas Pressure Exchanger and Turbo-Pumps. Dr. Thatte is the named inventor of PX G1300, the “Trans-Critical Rotary Pressure Exchanger” for expansion work recovery in CO2 refrigeration, which recently won the Innovation of the Year award from ATMO for increasing efficiency of low global warming CO2 refrigeration. Previously Dr. Thatte was a lead scientist at GE Research, where he led development of next generation aircraft engines like LEAP and GE 9X and several gas turbine technologies. As the P.I. on U.S. Dept. of Energy’s PREDICTS program, Dr. Thatte led the development of first megawatt scale supercritical CO2 turbine in the world. Dr. Thatte received his Ph. D from Georgia Tech and was an invited scholar at MIT. As a part of the NASA team, Dr. Thatte has also made the first discovery of an organic molecule outside our solar system. He is the author of more than 40 journal and peer reviewed conference publications and has more than 30 U.S. and international patents to his name. Dr. Thatte is the recipient of the Young Scientist award from STLE, Paul Cook Innovation award from Energy Recovery, Inc. and an invention medal from GE.

Bas Eickhout (1976, Groesbeek, NL) studied Chemistry and Environmental Science at the Radboud University in Nijmegen and lives in Utrecht. Since 2000, he worked as a researcher at the Netherlands Environmental Assessment Agency (Planbureau voor de Leefomgeving). He worked on several projects on international environmental problems, such as climate change, agriculture, land-use and biofuels. He co-authored the IPCC report on climate change, which received the 2007 Nobel Peace Prize. Bas Eickhout has been a member of the European Parliament and delegation leader of the Dutch Greens since 2009. He is a member and coordinator of the Committee on the Environment, Public Health and Food Safety and a substitute member of the Committee on Economic and Monetary Affairs and the Committee on Budgetary Control. Eickhout is also a member of the Delegation for relations with the People’s Republic of China and a substitute member of the Delegation for relations with the United States. Eickhout is the rapporteur for the revision of the EU F-gas Regulation.

Berty Jacob leads the Cold Chain and Selling Systems innovations in his role as Sr. R&D Manager in the Unilever ice cream business. He holds a degree in Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering. Since graduating from university, he has worked in Unilever first in Supply Chain in the Beverages business and then moved to the Ice cream category. He has led Unilever’s efforts in the development of new designs in ice cream cabinets, in the use of Hydrocarbon refrigerants and energy reduction sustainability initiatives. He is constantly looking to leverage solutions from other areas to bring value engineering, digitalization and sustainable technology applications that can be applied to the ice cream business.

Christian holds a B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering supplemented by 30 years’ experience within refrigeration, including solutions for supermarkets, cold stores, heat recovery and air conditioning systems with focus on natural refrigerants CO2 and hydrocarbons. Christian has initiated several projects aiming at reducing climate impact and optimizing energy performance and he share his discoveries when delivering training courses in CO2 refrigeration.

Christine Luetzkendorf is a Policy Advisor on Fluorinated Greenhouse Gases at the German Environmental NGO ‘DUH’ since the beginning of 2021. She focuses on promoting natural alternatives and works on regulations to restrict F-Gases as well as PFAS substitutes on national and European level. Christine holds a master’s degree with honours in biosciences from Utrecht University and moreover, specialized in science communication, which enables her to make the topic accessible to stakeholders like political actors and the general public.

Coen van de Sande holds a Master of Science in Engineering (MSc) and the Director of NVKL, as well as President of AREA. He worked for contractors from 1987-2007 in several positions: Engineer, head of service, Project manager and Managing Director, and for the Governments Building Agency from 207-2009 (senior consultant). Between 2009-2017 he was a technical manager at NVKL (Netherlands), before occupying the position of Director at Dutch Heating Industry (NVI) from 2016-2020. He went back to work at NVKL in 2021 as Director. NVKL, Dutch Association of Companies in the field of Refrigeration and Air Conditioning, counts 425 members (80% contractors, 15% wholesalers/manufacturers, 5% associated members). Coen also held various roles in AREA since 2009 including Chair WG Sustainable innovation and Chair WG Standards and legislation, board member, treasurer, VP, and President since May 2022.

Davide is Deputy policy manager for Climate at EEB, where he works on the decarbonisation of the heating and cooling sector through circular economy and product policy. He is also working on the revision of the f-gas (Fluorinated refrigerant Gas) regulation, and follows closely Energy Efficiency policies as well as Hydrogen-related policies. In the past he has been working for a long time at Legambiente (IT), in the fields of energy efficiency, refrigerant gases, agriculture and circular economy. He holds a master’s degree in political sciences from the University of Padua, Italy.

Educated as mechanical engineer at the School of engineering in Aarhus in 1999, Ebbe started work in Centre for Refrigeration and Heat Pump Technology at the Danish Technological Institute in 1999 and worked there until 2013. In 2013 Ebbe started his own company DryingMate with the aim of developing an industrial drying machine suitable for integration with heat pump. DryingMate is now run by his former partner as Ebbe decided to join Fenagy in 2020 as Sales director for the utility sector.

Emma leads the global Servitisation for Energy Transition (SET) Alliance at BASE. She holds an MSc in Sustainable Development from the University of Basel, Switzerland and is passionate about accelerating energy efficiency and innovative business models to enhance the circular economy and scale climate action. Emma brings more than 7 years of experience in stakeholder engagement across the public and private sector in Europe.

Enrico Fraccari is Director Marketing Residential Comfort for Europe at Copeland, leading efforts to develop products and solutions to support the European Heat Pump industry. He holds a Master’s degree in mechanical engineering from Politecnico di Milano in Italy and has more than 20 years’ experience working in the HVAC industry.

Enrico graduated as a thermotecnical engineer from the Padua University. He is experienced in HVAC, compressed air treatment and commercial refrigeration. Since 2002, Enrico has been the Refrigeration Systems Director at Arneg Italia, headquarter of the Arneg Group, international leader in the design, manufacture and installation of complete equipment for the retail sector. With his expertise on CO2 systems, he is responsible for supporting the business in its high sustainability projects, evolving hand in hand with intelligent technologies, interacting with the environment, society and customers.

Federica Rossetti is currently working at SCM Frigo, leader factory in CO2 solution. She is part of the R&D team and contributes to the improvement of products and study and innovative solution to improve existing products.

Filip pursued his PhD Degree while working at a research center on thermal management systems for the automotive industry. He proceeded his career working for a tier 1 HVAC&R supplier in the railway and transport refrigeration industry moving from managing the virtual development, managing product developments, product owner up to head of product management and design. Filip leads a department and is scientific head of Green Mobility Area at Virtual Vehicle Research in Graz, Austria. He founded pbx in 2017 with the vision to depollute the transport refrigeration sector crafting a resilient planet and future. Filip holds also a dual executive MBA degree. Several patents round up his profile.

François Crouzet is R&D Manager for residential heat pumps market at BDR Thermea. He is leading R&D efforts to develop products and solutions to support the European Heat Pump industry. He holds a Master’s degree in Automatized systems & mechanical engineering. After more than 20 years in the automotive industry, developing and industrializing sealing and acoustic solutions, he joined BDR Thermea in 2018. Named R&D manager in 2023, he takes the lead of a growing R&D team to support BDR Thermea Heat Pumps strategy.

After obtaining his Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering in 2002, Giacomo Pisano worked for one year as a Project Manager for General Electric’s Oil & Gas division, where the core business is turbomachinery applied to the oil \\u0026 gas industry. He joined DORIN in 2003 in the R&D department, taking responsibility of the CO2 compressor development and being in charge of the product’s technical qualification. Giacomo Pisano then took over several application engineering roles and is currently responsible for the CO2 compressors’ business development. In the meantime he joined several ASERCOM working groups and was the Chairman for the association’s CO2 working group for many years.

MMst. DI Harald Erös, BSc. Harald Erös is a master craftsman in heating, air-conditioning and refrigeration technology, has a bachelor’s degree in energy and environmental management and a master’s degree in building technology and building services engineering. He is working professionally in the refrigeration business since 2002. Since June 2017 he is lead of refrigeration, cooling and heat-pump technologies at a producing pharmaceutical company in Vienna, where he and his team are dedicated to the operational management of around 220 refrigeration systems throughout the whole lifecycle including planning and installing of new units with a focus on industrial engineering with natural refrigerants such as NH3, CO2 and Hydrocarbons. In addition, Harald imparts his knowledge at the Austrian Refrigeration Academy (Österreichische Akademie der Kältetechnik ÖAKT) as well as at the University of Applied Sciences Burgenland, where he also supervises bachelor and master theses. Furthermore, he contributes as a technical expert nationally and internationally, e.g. in standardization work at CEN/TC182/WG 06 “Revision of EN 378” and WG 12 “Flammable Refrigerants”. He is a founding member and chairman of the board of the Austrian Association of Refrigeration (ÖGKT) and published his first book on flammable refrigerants in August 2020.

Indy has been working at Panasonic since 2026, first as Technical Specialist and he now occupies the position of Product Specialist since 2022.

Ivan has been Busines Development Manager for Zudek since 2020. He is working with Zudek as Partner for the UK market, a market that is switching to more sustainable business models, which is perfectly suited for Zudek. Zudek is an industrial refrigeration company focused on ecologic and extremely efficient plants. Ivan, the oldest son of Alessandro Zudek founder of Zudek srl, has many years of international experience and is helping company reach new clients in perspective markets.

Jaume has developed his professional career within the sector in different air conditioning and refrigeration companies such as Reftrans, Thermoking, Hitachi, Mitsubishi Electric, and Carel developing different activities as lab prototypes testing, technical manager, quality manager, market manager and 5 years ago he joined Panasonic, as European Technical Specialist in the Product, Planning and Technical support department for refrigeration units with CO2.

Dr Jonatan Kleimark has background as a PhD in organic chemistry and experience from working as a project manager within different industrial sectors, including MedTech, automotive and pharmaceutical industry. At ChemSec, he leads the work on PFAS, including PFAS Movement and identification of safer alternatives to PFAS, is project manager for ChemSec Marketplace, and is responsible for the work within the ChemSec Business Group.

Today, Dr. Jürgen Süß is technical director of Ecooltec. Before that, he held various senior and top management positions at efficient energy, Cofely Refrigeration and Danfoss. Furthermore, he runs his own engineering consultancy. Jürgen holds a PhD from Hannover University and is active in international scientific committees and associations.

Jutta Paulus is a Member of the European Parliament for the German Green Party Bündnis90/Die Grünen since 2019. She is a member of the committees on Environment, Public Health and Food Safety (ENVI), Industry, Research and Energy (ITRE), Transport (TRAN) and Special Committee on the COVID-19 pandemic (COVI). Paulus started her career as a pharmacist, co-founded an independent laboratory for the examination of chemical hazards, and worked in quality management. From 2017 to 2019, she was the regional co-president of the Rhineland-Palatinate Greens. Jutta Paulus dedicated her political work to climate, energy and environmental challenges. She aims to achieve that the European Union takes effective action against climate change and that human beings, animals and nature are protected from destruction, pollution and poisoning.

Kuo-Chiang (K-C) Chen is Vice President of CO2 at Energy Recovery, where he led a multi-disciplinary team through the research and development, product delivery, and go-to-market strategy of our PX G1300 device for CO2 systems. Mr. Chen brings years of new product development expertise to Energy Recovery and has managed over 20 commercialized engineering projects from concept to production, working cross-functionally to align technology efforts with strategic business needs. Mr. Chen holds more than 50 patents. Prior to joining Energy Recovery, Mr. Chen had extensive experience in the energy space, most recently as Vice President of Upwing Energy. He also served in a variety of leadership roles at Halliburton, CNPC, and Schlumberger. He holds a Ph.D. and M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, a Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering from the National Taiwan University, and an MBA from Erasmus University in Rotterdam.

Kenneth is a Product Manager for Heat Pumps solutions at GEA. This role involves the development of industrial heat pumps application and training of GEA’s global sales team. He has acquired a broad knowledge of industrial ammonia heat pump applications through many installations with capacities from 200 kW to 40,000 kW. With applications stretching from Dairies, Food processing, Combined heat and power, and ground source heat pumps. With the continued development of the market, he has also been involved in the exploration of new Heat Pump technologies with CO2 and hydrocarbons.

Educated as mechanical engineer at DTU back in 1995 later in 2003 further educated in Engineering Business Administration (bachelor). Started as engineer at Danish Technological Institute in 1995 and worked as general manager for the refrigeration department from 2001. Started own company, Advansor, in 2006, which was the fastest growing start-up in DK in the years 2008-2011. Sold the company to the Dover Industries in 2011 and stayed as CEO for Advansor until 2018. Took a year in 2018/2019 crossing the Atlantic Ocean with my family and a 8-month cruise in Caribbean before returning to Denmark in the summer 2019. Now working with start-ups and advisory business focusing on sustainable businesses within environment and energy sector. CO-founded Fenagy during the summer 2020 with the ambition to create a professional OEM in the field of industrial refrigeration and electrical heap pumps based on CO2 as refrigerant. The majority of Fenagy was acquired by Beijer Ref in 2021.

Lee has been in the industry since leaving school and instantly become fascinated, which quickly grew into a passion and a life style. He started in service before moving into install and design with a focus on refrigeration before expanding his knowledge into air con, ventilation, extraction, mechanical, electrical and heat recovery systems. He has been running his own businesses for the past 14 years taking them from start up to multi-million-pound turnovers and existed from my contracting business at the end of 2021 before joining Beijer in Jan 2022. Running a contracting business means he understood the value of great training, the importance of attracting new talent into our industry and investing in Engineers of the future. Disruptive and sustainable innovation is always at the heart of everything he does. Over the past 10years he has invented various sustainable technologies which have UK and EU patents and help reduce and remove direct carbon emissions whilst utilising waste heat from refrigeration systems.

Lionel Audouy is Integrated Products Director at Tecumseh and Former Engineering and Global Platform Director H oversees product management & development management of the full Tecumseh Europe portfolio. Tecumseh offer includes compressors, systems & solutions for heating & cooling applications.

Born in Italy, Luca obtained a specialist degree in energy engineering (ingegneria energetica) at Politecnico of Milan in 2011. He’s been working in E. Biaggini SA in Switzerland since 2013 and is project manager in the field of commercial and industrial refrigeration systems with transcritical CO2 technology. Luca speaks Italian, English and German and closely collaborates with many Swiss, European and Chinese companies. He has been a Board Member of E. Biaggini SA since January 2023.

Mr. Mahmud Rahman is Head of Energy & Environment UK, Müller UK & Ireland, a dairy brand developing, manufacturing and marketing a wide range of dairy products for the UK market.

Founder of ATMOsphere a global, independent market accelerator with a mission to clean-up cooling. Marc Chasserot has 20 years of experience in the HVAC&R sector. His focus throughout those years has been with Natural Refrigerant based technologies used in Refrigeration, Heat Pumps and Air Conditioning applications. He has founded several industry platforms, namely; www.R744.com, www.hydrocarbons21.com, ammonia21.com, and Accelerate Magazine. Published numerous reports for industry and policy-makers, chaired over 70 ATMOsphere conferences worldwide. Marc has lived and worked in Asia, Europe and America. He holds several degrees in Economics, Marketing and Politics.

Mr. Szczecina is Sales Engineer/ Project Manager at JBG-2 Manufacturer of Commercial Refrigeration Equipment. He support the sales department in the international sales and project management.

After graduation at the Università degli Studi di Pavia (It) and two years in an electro/mechanical company, fascinated by the refrigeration technologies, he entered in Embraco in 1972 and developed the entire carrier in this company, with different responsibilities in technical-commercial activities (Techn. Support manager, MKT manager, Key account Manager). The collaboration with Nidec GA – Embraco, globally considered a leader in providing sustainable solutions for household and commercial refrigeration, is still continuing as Key Account Sr Advisor, Commercial Refrigeration. In his activities he established technical liaisons between Embraco – OEMs – End Users and institutions in order to individuate in advance the needs and expectations of the market for addressing the company actions on innovative solutions and supporting their implementation on the market. Thanks to these activities, he contributed to the adoption and diffusion of the HCs in the household and commercial refrigeration. Engaged in training activities, he held training on the safety use of flammable refrigerants and system performance optimization. Marino is a member of CEN TC 44 and ISO TC 86 for Commercial and Professional appliances, a member of IIR Safety WG 1 and 2, partner for the EU Real Alternatives blended training, and member of ATF.

Menno van der Hoff has been innovating heat pumps since 1989, many years Head of R&D at Colt International UK/D/NL and he invented the patented TripleAqua technology. TripleAqua is a natural three pipe reversible heat pump system without a 4-way valve, thus always more efficient, with less material and much less piping costs! The technology was tested at a series of pilots with the help of BeijerRef. By applying thermal storage, natural refrigerant propane, optimized heat transfer, a zero carbon footprint solution is created. TripleAqua is relaunched at ChillVenta 22 with CO2 transcritical. Menno has patented his designs and all patents have been granted and commercialized. Several licenses have been given out to leading family owned European heat pump manufacturers. For his work, he received a long list of awards, some to mention: the Cooling Industry Award 2009 UK, the H&V News award 2009 Environmental initiative of the year, twice he received the Dutch NVKL Cool Trophy for a propylene decentral heat pump system and for TripleAqua, the EU Climate-KIC award, EU Heat pump initiative of the year, the IEA Heat pump innovation award, The European Heat Pump City of the Year HPCY award, Person of the Year 2017 (Atmosphere) and more. Menno strives to continue to build new and innovative businesses using natural refrigerant and the most efficient heat pump technology available or to be invented.

Dr. Michael Bantle is CTO at Aneo Industry AS – a part of the Norwegian renewable energy concern Aneo – and responsible for the integration and operation of steam producing heat pumps for clients in the food/feed, chemical and pulp/paper industry. Since more than a decade he has been working in the field of high temperature heat pumps, energy efficiency and recovery with special focus on steam compression cycles for the process industry. He has been actively contributing to the scientific community and international conferences. Michael Bantle holds a PhD from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology and is actively contributing to the uptake of natural refrigerants.

Dipl.-Ing. (FH) Michael Eckert has been an independent entrepreneur in commercial and industrial refrigeration system construction for more than 25 years. After training as a refrigeration system builder, he studied energy and heat engineering at the Giessen University of Applied Sciences. The refrigerant ammonia and its use in commercial refrigeration has occupied him since the beginning of his professional life.

Mustafa is a senior consultant at Guidehouse. He is a sustainability enthusiast with a background in mechanical engineering, renewable energies and management. He is specialised in buildings topics and is currently working within the Cool Up Programme on upscaling sustainable cooling across the MENA region.

Olaf Schulze is the Director Energy Management/ Real Estate Sustainability at METRO Properties Holding From 2005 to 2013, he was the Managing Director of Metro Properties Energy Management GmbH. Previously, Schulze worked at Europower Energy GmbH as the Head of Legal and Human Resources and at Geberit Mapress GmbH as the Head of Legal and Insurance.

Pedro is a Telecommunication Engineer with a business degree from the ESADE Business School of Barcelona. He has been working at Huayi Compressors Barcelona for more than 30 years where he has occupied several positions in R&D and Sales areas. Since 2005 he is the responsible for Sales and Marketing with a global responsibility inside of Huayi Group for the light commercial refrigeration market.

Peter is Project leader in the CTO-organization of Deutsche Bahn AG in Berlin. He studied Transportation Planning and Operation at the TU Berlin. He has been working since 2004 at Deutsche Bahn AG and started with Life-cycle- and RAMS projects. Since 2012, natural refrigerants are part of his work. With the project “Fzg-HLK Natur” he organized the proving of HVAC units with natural refrigerants of several manufacturers.

Philipp graduated in 2011 with a Degree “Dipl.-Ing.” in mechanical engineering at the Ruhr-University Bochum, and obtained his Ph.D. in mechanical engineering at the University Duisburg-Essen in 2016 (Optically accessible IC-engines: non-invasive laser measurements and thermodynamics. Thesis: Designing and start-up of an optically accessible high-load IC-engine with linked test-bench). Since 2016 he has been working for Rheinmetall Division Sensors & Actuators (S&A). First as Project Manager Development – technical project-lead for an electrical climate compressor (2016-2018). From 2018 to 2021 he was Manager e-Compressor Core-Development with the responsibility for the development of e-compressor, and the build-up of team and infrastructure within Rheinmetall S&A. Since 2021 he is Senior Manager Product Engineering with the responsibility of development & related budget of refrigerant components.

Philipp Denzinger is an economist and project manager, who promotes green cooling worldwide as part of his work for Germany’s GIZ – one of the world’s largest international development cooperation agencies. Prior to joining GIZ, Philipp worked with BMW in the automotive industry. He uses his expertise to help governments and private sector companies in emerging economies to adopt energy-efficient, climate-smart technologies for refrigeration and air-conditioning, and to strengthen vocational training in the cooling sector. Phillip is the Project manager of the Green Cooling Initiative (GCI) project run by GIZ, a global initiative that aims to promote and sustainably transform the cooling sector in emerging and developing countries.

Radek hold master´s degree in Environmental Engineering from Brno University of Technology. Working in Sinop for over 11 years, Radek started as project manager, looking after production of different customised projects. Having rich experience cooperating with customers especially in marine segment, Radek communicate fluently English. Radek currently specializes in heat pumps with CO2 as refrigerant and became PDM for TripleAqua product family.

Raymond C. Decorvet has a degree in economics. He spent 25 years in Information & Communication Technology (ICT) in various companies and management positions. His expertise is business development, sales and marketing. For 7 years he was working for ABB in the Data Center segment looking after the largest international colocation providers. Since 2018 he works for MAN Energy Solutions Switzerland in Global Business Development for large scale heat-pumps and the new and innovative tri-generation energy management solution MAN ETES (Electro Thermal Energy Storage), which provides heat, cold & electricity.

Robert graduated with a master’s degree at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering of the Rzeszów University of Technology and the title of engineer at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the Cracow University of Technology. For many years associated with the ES SYSTEM K company, a Polish manufacturer of commercial refrigeration, where he develops production technology in the Digital Factory direction. Passionately implements innovative solutions also in the product area, the latest being the Smart Shop Control system, which is responsible for remote control and monitoring of electric equipments in the store.

Dr. Roman Heckt has studied Mechanical Engineering at RWTH Aachen/Germany followed by a PHD in Thermodynamics of regenerative Heat Pumps at University in Dortmund/Germany. He started his professional career developing advanced heat pump systems at Viessmann in 1993. Since 24 years he covers at HANON Systems various roles in the development of Components and Systems for AC & HeatPumps in the field of automotive applications especially for eVehicles. His main focus is to enable the successful usage of R744 Systems in Mobile Applications.

Ing. Roy Arends is 31 years and work as Design Engineer Refrigeration at Veld Koeltechniek (The Netherlands) for the Industrial business unit. He has 10 years of working experience. He completed a bachelor degree in mechanical engineering (minor design and operation of energy systems) and a post-bachelor degree in design of refrigeration systems. His specialties are CO2 transcitical systems, ammonia systems, heat pumps, refrigeration legislation (PED, EN-378)

Ruben De Vos has been Manager Energy & Engineering at Delhaize Belux part of Ahold Delhaize Group since 2022. He works on the optimalisation of Cooling & HVAC in supermarkets, and energy consciousness transmission to affiliated supermarket stores.

Sophie is Climate Campaigner at the Environmental Investigation Agency working on F-gas and PFAS policy and sustainable cooling. She works on the revision of the EU and GB F-gas Regulation revisions, on the Montreal Protocol and with industry and other stakeholders to promote energy efficient, natural refrigerant cooling. Before joining EIA, she worked for a renewable energy company focusing on energy storage.

Stefan Elbel recently joined TU Berlin as Professor for Heat Transfer and Energy Conversion. Prior to that he was a faculty member of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and Co-Director of the Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Center (ACRC). He is also the President & CTO of Creative Thermal Solutions, Inc. an independent research lab focusing on technology development for all sectors of the HVAC&R industry.

Stien has been working with us since 2012 as head of the purchasing department, helping to research new products for us. Energy is also close to his heart which of course makes this a good match, energy and refrigeration.

Thomas is Deputy Manager for Public Affairs, dealing with files related to ozone depletion, climate change, energy and chemicals. He regularly contributes to ATMOsphere’s industry-dedicated media outlets www.R744.com, www.ammonia21.com and www.hydrocarbons21.com with policy-relevant articles. Before joining ATMOsphere, Thomas worked at the European Commission’s competition department for state aid in the energy sector.

Dr. Timothy Held is the Chief Technology Officer at Echogen Power Systems in Akron, Ohio, where he is responsible for development, maturation, and transition to product of supercritical CO2 power cycles and energy storage systems. Prior to joining Echogen in 2008, Dr. Held was with GE Aviation for 13 years, where he held leadership positions in several combustor design and fuels technology teams. He received a BSAAE from Purdue University in 1987, and a Ph.D. in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering from Princeton University in 1993. He has published several technical journal articles and book chapters, and holds 49 U.S. patents.

Tom Vandenberghe has been Energy manager Delhaize Belux part of Ahold Delhaize Group since 2016. He works on reporting Carbon data scope1-2-3, group purchase energy Belgium, purchase high voltage cabins.

Mr. Musiol is Research and Refrigeration Deputy Manager at JBG-2 Manufacturer of Commercial Refrigeration Equipment. He works in the development and testing of refrigeration cabinets
