Alessandro Moneta holds a Master’s degree in Management Engineering earned at “Politecnico di Milano” in 2006. Since then, he has covered different sales roles in leading heat exchanger manufacturing companies. In these years he has gained a deep knowledge in the European HVAC and Refrigeration market. In 2019 he joined Güntner Group as Business Development Manager and Key Accounts Manager. In accordance with the principles and values promoted by Guentner such as Sustainability, decarbonization and innovation, in January 2023 he was appointed Business Development Manager for Renewable Energy Systems, in which the heat pump application is currently the most relevant. Driving the industry towards a reliable and sustainable technology as its first choice. With Alessandro´s experience and Güntner´s engineering excellence, we are Always a solution ahead.

Anders Mønsted is the Business Development Manager at Advansor. With a background in refrigeration engineering, he has been working with natural refrigerant solutions since 1994. He has mainly worked with CO2 and ammonia as a refrigerant in industrial systems. CO2 is an excellent refrigerant for many applications, for example, low temperatures applications down to -50°C for liquification of CO2.     His focus is to always match the best and most sustainable CO2 refrigeration solution with the customer´s needs and applications.

Andrea is the grandson of Sagat S.a.s.’s founder, Giorgio, and son of the current President, Fabio. Andrea was always passionate about his father’s work and assisted him directly during the university period. Andreas Klaudus is the founder and managing director of the Austrian Academy of Refrigeration and a board member of the Austrian Refrigeration Society. For more than 10 years, he has been involved in the further development of education and training as well as the exchange of knowledge, experience and information in the refrigeration, air conditioning and heat pump sector. Having completed an apprenticeship in the field of refrigeration technology himself at a young age and subsequently passing the master craftsman’s examination, the training and further education of young specialists and apprentices as well as the preparation of technicians for the master craftsman’s examination are of particular concern to him. A major focus of all training and further education is the practical and safe handling of environmentally friendly refrigerants.

Andreas Meier has several years of experience in management functions within the refrigeration sector. He has been a member of TEKO’s management since August 2015. He was previously President of Sales D / A / CH at GEA Refrigeration Technologies, based in Berlin – Germany, and before that he was the Head of Marketing and Product Management at GEA Küba GmbH. He also worked in Zug – Switzerland, as Sales & Marketing Manager at a Japanese manufacturer for industrial refrigeration.

Arno Kaschl works as a Senior Policy Officer for the European Commission. Arno studied biology and has a Ph.D. from the University of Hohenheim, Germany. Since 2011 he has been responsible for European fluorinated gas policies, contributing to the negotiations of the Fgas regulation and the Kigali amendment to the Montreal protocol.

Dr. Azam Thatte is the Chief Scientist at Energy Recovery, Inc. where he leads the fundamental research in developing novel sustainable energy technologies like Trans-Critical CO2 Refrigeration & Heat Pumps, Thermal Energy Storage and Geothermal Power Generation, as well as component level technologies including Rotary Gas Pressure Exchanger and Turbo-Pumps. Dr. Thatte is the named inventor of PX G1300, the “Trans-Critical Rotary Pressure Exchanger” for expansion work recovery in CO2 refrigeration, which recently won the Innovation of the Year award from ATMO for increasing efficiency of low global warming CO2 refrigeration. Previously Dr. Thatte was a lead scientist at GE Research, where he led development of next generation aircraft engines like LEAP and GE 9X and several gas turbine technologies. As the P.I. on U.S. Dept. of Energy’s PREDICTS program, Dr. Thatte led the development of first megawatt scale supercritical CO2 turbine in the world. Dr. Thatte received his Ph. D from Georgia Tech and was an invited scholar at MIT. As a part of the NASA team, Dr. Thatte has also made the first discovery of an organic molecule outside our solar system. He is the author of more than 40 journal and peer reviewed conference publications and has more than 30 U.S. and international patents to his name. Dr. Thatte is the recipient of the Young Scientist award from STLE, Paul Cook Innovation award from Energy Recovery, Inc. and an invention medal from GE.

Bas Eickhout

Bas Eickhout (1976, Groesbeek, NL) studied Chemistry and Environmental Science at the Radboud University in Nijmegen and lives in Utrecht. Since 2000, he worked as a researcher at the Netherlands Environmental Assessment Agency (Planbureau voor de Leefomgeving). He worked on several projects on international environmental problems, such as climate change, agriculture, land-use and biofuels. He co-authored the IPCC report on climate change, which received the 2007 Nobel Peace Prize. Bas Eickhout has been a member of the European Parliament and delegation leader of the Dutch Greens since 2009. He is a member and coordinator of the Committee on the Environment, Public Health and Food Safety and a substitute member of the Committee on Economic and Monetary Affairs and the Committee on Budgetary Control. Eickhout is also a member of the Delegation for relations with the People’s Republic of China and a substitute member of the Delegation for relations with the United States. Eickhout is the rapporteur for the revision of the EU F-gas Regulation.

Berty Jacob leads the Cold Chain and Selling Systems innovations in his role as Sr. R&D Manager in the Unilever ice cream business. He holds a degree in Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering. Since graduating from university, he has worked in Unilever first in Supply Chain in the Beverages business and then moved to the Ice cream category. He has led Unilever’s efforts in the development of new designs in ice cream cabinets, in the use of Hydrocarbon refrigerants and energy reduction sustainability initiatives. He is constantly looking to leverage solutions from other areas to bring value engineering, digitalization and sustainable technology applications that can be applied to the ice cream business.

Coen van de Sande holds a Master of Science in Engineering (MSc) and the Director of NVKL, as well as President of AREA. Between 2009-2017 he was a technical manager at NVKL (Netherlands), before occupying the position of Director at Dutch Heating Industry (NVI) from 2016-2020. Harald Erös is a master craftsman in heating, air-conditioning and refrigeration technology, has a bachelor’s degree in energy and environmental management and a master’s degree in building technology and building services engineering. He is working professionally in the refrigeration business since 2002. Since June 2017 he is lead of refrigeration, cooling and heat-pump technologies at a producing pharmaceutical company in Vienna, where he and his team are dedicated to the operational management of around 220 refrigeration systems throughout the whole lifecycle including planning and installing of new units with a focus on industrial engineering with natural refrigerants such as NH3, CO2 and Hydrocarbons. In addition, Harald imparts his knowledge at the Austrian Refrigeration Academy (Österreichische Akademie der Kältetechnik ÖAKT) as well as at the University of Applied Sciences Burgenland, where he also supervises bachelor and master theses. Furthermore, he contributes as a technical expert nationally and internationally, e.g. in standardization work at CEN/TC182/WG 06 “Revision of EN 378” and WG 12 “Flammable Refrigerants”. He is a founding member and chairman of the board of the Austrian Association of Refrigeration (ÖGKT) and published his first book on flammable refrigerants in August 2020.

Prior to joining GIZ, Philipp worked with BMW in the automotive industry.
