State Funding for Natural Refrigerants

State Funding for Natural Refrigerants, ATMO America 2024

A session in partnership with North American Sustainable Refrigeration Council (NASRC). As food retailers transition from HFC refrigerants to future-proof alternatives, they are limited by the high capital costs of replacing equipment. State funding programs have the potential to help offset those costs and accelerate the transition from HFCs to ultra-low global warming potential (GWP) alternatives such as CO2, propane and ammonia. This session reviewed current and future funding options including the $65 Million California F-gas Incentive Reduction Program (FRIP), and other states actively pursuing funding programs.
